The degrees
Diplôme National d’Art (DNA – National Art Degree)
At the end of the 3rd year, the student is eligible to present themselves for the Diplôme National d’Arts (DNA) if they have earned beforehand the 165 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits throughout their education.
The exams for the Diplôme National d’Arts (DNA) consist of :
- A review of the pedagogical records of the candidate;
- A selection made by the student of significant work from their three years of study;
- An interview with the jury.
The ESAD in Reims prepares candidates for :
- DNA art option
- DNA design option specialization object-space
- DNA design option specialization graphic- digital design
Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (National Higher level Degree in Plastic Expression/ Visual Arts- the equivalent of a Master’s in Art)
At the end of the 5th year, the student is eligible to present themselves for the Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (DNSEP), under condition of having previously obtained the 275 ECTS credits in the overall long cycle. The DNSEP is registered on level I of the National Repertory of Professional Certifications (Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles). The DNSEP is at the European level of a Master.
The tests for the Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (DNSEP) consist of :
- Defense of a thesis at the beginning of term 10, to a jury chaired by a PhD holder.
- A presentation of student’s work to a jury and an interview at the end of term 10.

- DNSEP art option
- DNSEP design option specialization object-space
- DNSEP design option specialization graphic- digital design
- DNSEP design option specialization food design
Certificat d’établissement (Establishment Certificate)
The Higher Level Education in Food Design is awarded by a jury on the presentation of a selection of work. It is the object of an Establishment Certificate, which is issued by the Public Establishment ESAD of Reims, officially authorised by the French Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication.
